The dynamic screen duo of Julia Roberts and George Clooney are back together in ‘Ticket to Paradise’, as a divorced couple who race to Bali, Indonesia, to stop their daughter from marrying a seaweed farmer. Incidentally, The Civic will also be acting as a time machine on Saturday taking us back 50 years to the legendary Grateful Dead’s previously unreleased Tivoli Concert Hall, 4/17/72 performance.
The sixth show on the Grateful Dead's famous Europe '72 tour was a return engagement to the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 17, 1972. This ground-breaking concert broadcast event was the Dead's first major live concert broadcast. Now fully restored and color corrected in High Definition with audio mixed from the 16-track analog master tapes by Jeffrey Norman and mastered by David Glasser, Tivoli 4/17/72 features nearly an hour and a half of the Grateful Dead at a peak of their performing career.
Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies @ The Civic Theatre - Sat. Nov 5th
While on your time bending trip did somebody in the Danish audience slip you a magic fungus or are you just back in good ‘old 2022 for the encore screening of ‘Dosed 2’? On Weds. Nov 9th, The follow-up of Tyler Chandler and Nicholas Meyers award winning 2019 film, DOSED, about the therapeutic use of psychedelics returns to The Civic Theatre.
In DOSED 2: The Trip of a Lifetime, Laurie, a loving mother of four, is granted the right to legally use magic mushrooms to treat her end of life anxiety. She then embarks on a remarkable journey of personal transformation and healing while exploring lesser known possible cures for cancer, like cannabis oil. A Q&A will follow the screening.
Dosed 2: The Trip of a Lifetime @ The Civic Theatre - Wed. Nov 9th
And jumping from the magic of the mushroom to that of the hour, we bring you TGR’s latest Ski film ‘Magic Hour’, which isn’t so much a particular time a day as a culmination of powerful moments in some of the most beautiful, wild places on the planet. For 27 years, Teton Gravity Research has been searching for the right place with the right crew at the perfect time to experience life at its fullest.
TGR’s Magic Hour @ The Civic Theatre - Sun. Nov 6th
And for those looking for more snow… with maybe a pint in hand, look no further than Peaks & Pints festival happening four nights later.
