Our Proposal

Many of you have asked for details of the proposal we submitted to the city which they recently accepted.

We are very proud of the work we have done, and very excited that our proposal was selected to move forward.

Please find below the proposal, in full, for your late night reading enjoyment.

Our proposal outlines our intentions as well as our hopes and dreams for the Nelson Civic Theatre. We welcome feedback as we use this proposal as our road map moving forward and hope you are inspired to volunteer your energy in the working groups we will soon be identifying.

Announcing Board of Directors – Nelson Civic Theatre Society

We are very pleased to announce the names of our Board of Directors for the Nelson Civic Theatre Society.

Since the inception of our group we have been lucky to have 16 incredible volunteers working tirelessly to create our non-profit society and research and create the proposal that was recently accepted by the City of Nelson.

Our board will be made up of nine elected members from this group of 16, while the remaining members will be staying on as equally important support positions in the working groups and committees we have identified.

Over the coming months we will be looking for additional volunteers to assist our team in various working groups (to be announced soon) so please join our mailing list and let us know if you are willing and able to help us.

The Nelson Civic Theatre Society Board of Directors are:

Anne DeGrace – President
Roger Ley – Vice-President
Rick Dietrich (CGA) – Treasurer
Ken Spencer – Secretary (Records management)
Jane Miller – Recording Secretary (minutes)
Marilyn Mint
Jason Asbell

Proposal Update – over 4200 signatures!

We just wanted to post a quick update from the proposal team.

Yesterday Josh Wapp (pictured) collected another 100 signatures for our survey down at our local Cottonwood Falls Market, and another 130 from our surveys posted in our local shops.

That brings the total to over 4200 signatures!

The support we have seen from our community is astounding – thank you to everyone who has taken part online and offline, through feedback, our surveys, our facebook page, and for all of your comments!

We are all volunteers in this project, needless to say your support has kept us focused and motivated. We are days away from submitting our proposal to the city so keep the comments and support coming and check back soon for more updates!
